Kate Hudson, Left Unity national secretary, said:
“Our sympathy goes to the friends and family of those killed at Charlie Hebdo.
“This atrocity will have wider repercussions – already there are reports of a rise in racist attacks today in France.
“We stand against this attack, and against those who seek to use this terrible tragedy as an opportunity to stoke Islamophobia. The criminal actions of extremists of any sort must never be used as political capital to demonise entire communities.”
