In response to a Guardian article today raising the prospect of a Labour-Tory coalition, left wing party Left Unity is calling on the Labour Party to immediately and categorically rule out the prospect.
Felicity Dowling of Left Unity said:
“For Labour to go into coalition with the Tories would be the most incredible betrayal. Yet it is being talked about as a realistic prospect.
“Ed Miliband and the Labour leadership must immediately and categorically rule out the possibility of a coalition with the Conservatives, under any conditions.
“If they refuse to do so, or give a politician’s answer, then we will draw our own conclusions about their intentions.
“People who have faced the brutal hardship of the Tory government need to have hope. If Labour won’t rule out propping up the Tories then an alternative is urgently needed.”
