Members of Britain’s left wing party Left Unity are travelling to Greece this weekend in support of Syriza as it looks set to top the polls.
The delegation will travel to Athens to join Syriza election rallies and campaigning, as Left Unity in Britain prepares to step up efforts in solidarity with its sister party.
Simon Hardy, a member of Left Unity’s Lambeth branch who is organising the delegation, said:
“We’re going to Greece because if a Syriza government is elected then it could be the beginning of a wave of resistance across Europe.
“I’m sick of neoliberalism, racism and austerity – if Syriza can help lead the fight back then there is hope we can do similar in other countries.
“This is the return of hope!”
Left Unity has previously organised a speaking tour in Britain with speakers from Syriza alongside Spain’s Podemos.
