Argentinian deputy speaks in Lambeth and Central London
The Workers and Left Front, a socialist alliance in Argentina, recently scored very good results in the October legislative elections, winning three national deputies and eight provincial ones.
Christian Castillo deputy for Buenos Aires Province and his partner Claudia are visiting London in early January and are speaking in Brixton and central London on the situation in Argentina and the role of the Workers and Left Front (FIT in Spanish).
On taking his national seat in December one of the FIT MPs, Nicolás del Caño, a member of the PTS, said “We are going to put our parliamentary seats at the service of the workers’ struggles against the employers, the government and the union bureaucracy. We are going to support the struggle to recover the unions, in order to confront austerity and the limits on wages that the government wants to impose. Our parliamentary seats will also be a platform and a rostrum, so that the struggle of the women’s movement against the clerical reform of the Civil Code and for the law that will guarantee legal, safe and free abortion, can be expressed.”
