Jeremy Corbyn candidacy is last chance for Labour

Left wing political party Left Unity is calling on Labour MPs to ensure that Jeremy Corbyn is allowed on the ballot paper for Labour leader.

Salman Shaheen of Left Unity said:

“Jeremy Corbyn is the only anti-austerity candidate for Labour leader, and a principled campaigner and socialist of many years’ standing.

“As Scotland shows, Labour loses when it abandons the people it was founded to support. While all the other leadership candidates race to the right, Jeremy’s candidacy offers Labour a last chance to step back from the precipice.

“We support the growing call on Labour MPs to ensure he gets enough nominations to appear on the ballot paper.

“If he is blocked from standing then the Labour Party is finished as any kind of opposition to the Tory government.”
