How dare Labour abstain on the welfare bill?

Responding to Labour’s abstention on the Welfare Bill, Felicity Dowling of Left Unity said:

“It is shameful for Labour MPs to abstain on a bill that is nothing more than a Tory attack on the very poorest.

“Well done to the 48 Labour MPs who voted ‘no’. The rest should hang their heads. How bloody dare they! How dare they abstain on a bill that will push more children into terrible poverty?

“We need an opposition that actually opposes, instead of just keeping the benches warm for no purpose.”
