Arthur Scargill – arrested for defending his members
Lost images from The Miners’ Strike 1984-5. This remains the most important dispute of the last 30 years. Can’t imagine this happening today. Union leader leads a one year strike to defend his members and their jobs. Breaks all anti-trade union laws. Is villified in the press and arrested by the police. Constantly joins his members on the picket line.
