Left wing political party Left Unity has branded Ed Miliband’s decision to pose with a copy of the Sun newspaper a “grave act of disrespect” and called for him to apologise.
Felicity Dowling, Left Unity speaker and member of the party’s Liverpool branch, said:
“The hurt from this picture is tangible. Ed Miliband has posed with the Sun while the Hillsborough Inquests are in session.
“This newspaper insulted our dead. That’s why it has long been boycotted by all in Liverpool. Even now the long, hard struggle for Justice for the 96 is far from won.
“Ed Miliband must apologise now for this grave act of disrespect, or the people of Liverpool will never forgive him – and they won’t vote for him either.”
