People’s NHS marchers have no more t-shirts: they need our help

Yesterday (Thursday) the People’s March for the NHS arrived in Nottingham. Good crowds. Great spirit. Wonderfully inspiring for an important cause: Defending the NHS.

There is only one problem. With their long march to London just about half over, the marchers have run out of their souvenir/publicity T-shirts. Right at the moment, they have no spare cash to get any more produced.

They need our help. In the next 48 hours – that is before 17:00 on Sunday – we will be raising £1,250 for the marchers.

This money will allow them to immediately place an order for 250 more People’s March T-shirts. And then they will have a fresh supply available, both as a fund-raiser and as a way to publicise their historic 450km march which ends in London on 6 Sept.

Make your donation – of £5, £10 or more if you can – using your PayPal account OR your credit or debit card.

This is a joint project of the East Midlands Greens & two Left Unity branches (Nottingham and Nottinghamshire). It has been approved by organisers of the People’s March for the NHS.

Remember: £1,250 is needed… and by Sunday at 17:00.

Please pass on and share this message.

As of 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, we had raised £230.00 from 14 contributors involved in this joint project of two LU branches in Nottinghamshire and East Midland Greens. Keep ’em coming…

The fund-raising campaign for T-shirts for the People’s March for the NHS is now over. Forty-eight (48) donors gave a net total (after Paypal took off its slice) of £936.39.

This money should ensure that the marchers will have march t-shirts available for their wrap-up rally in London’s Trafalgar Square on Saturday: http://999callfornhs.org.uk/the-london-rally/4585674915 .

Thanks to all of the donors who will also get a personal e-mail from me and from a representative of the East Midland Greens; we worked together harmoniously on this three-day financial appeal.

We have already got a “brilliant” message from Rehana Azam of the march team who is out on the road over in Northamptonshire.
    Cheers
Alan Story ( Interim Sec. of LU Nottinghamshire)
